Your First Visit

Every smile starts with a complimentary consultation!

Here at Pure Smiles Orthodontics, we try to make your first visit a special one! As soon as you arrive at the practice you will be welcomed by our Treatment Coordinator who will be with you throughout your appointment. She will give you a tour around our beautiful practice where you may have the opportunity to meet some of our team members. She will then escort you to our new patients’ room to go over your concerns and prepare you for records. Our records process consists of photos of your face and teeth, as well as radiographs of your teeth and head. These will help Dr. Gonzalez make the right diagnosis and create a treatment plan tailored to your needs and concerns.

We will then go into detail over your main concerns and your medical history. For your convenience, you will be able to complete this Medical History Form at home, by downloading it below.

Once Dr. G comes in, she will do a clinical exam and review your records with you. Then she will discuss the diagnosis and possible treatment plan. We finalize the hour-long appointment by going over finances and answering any additional questions or concerns you may have.

Our goal is for you to feel comfortable with Dr. Gonzalez and our team, and we hope to achieve that by the end of this first office visit. We want you to have a thorough understanding of your specific orthodontic needs, the treatment options presented, and the payment options offered. We realize orthodontic treatment is an investment of time and resources, and we want you to have confidence in your decision to work with us.

Please take a minute to print and fill out the patient information form before your first appointment:

What happens after the initial consultation?

During your initial consultation, you may have the opportunity to get started that day! If you choose to begin treatment after the initial visit, you will schedule your next appointment during the consultation to get started. At this next appointment Dr. Silvana Gonzalez will place your new braces and then you’re on your way toward your new smile!

Scheduling Appointments

Visiting the orthodontist every 8 to 12 weeks is an important part of your orthodontic treatment. Regular checkups last between 20 and 40 minutes. Our practice will work with you to make sure that your appointments are scheduled at times that are convenient for your busy day. That way you will spend less time in the office and more time enjoying the things you love to do.

Sometimes life gets in the way of appointments, so if you’re running late or need to reschedule please let us know, and we will do everything we can to accommodate you. When you’re ready to schedule your first appointment, call our practice at 512-215-2520; we’re looking forward to working with you.

Visiting the dentist during orthodontic treatment

It is very important that you continue to visit your family dentist once every six months, even during your orthodontic treatment, for teeth cleanings and routine dental checkups.

If extra dental care is needed, we will be happy to coordinate with your family dentist to make sure that you are receiving the best care possible
